hi! i’m grace :)
I’m a graduate student currently studying Information Experience Design at Pratt Institute in New York. I completed a BSI in Information Science at the University of Michigan for my undergrad and completed minors in two of my passions— creative writing and art!
Converging my two interests of technology and art together has led me towards the path of digital design and making technology both beautiful and accessible. I believe in creative problem solving, advocating for users, and designing for equity and inclusion in digital spaces. Time is money, so why waste your time on experiences that don’t enhance your life?
From 0 to 1
My journey with design all started with art when I was four years old, sketching princesses with big hoops for skirts and dogs with pointy, triangular snouts. Since then, art has always been an integral part of my life. As a kid, I wrote and illustrated my own graphic novels of dramatic fairy tales, insisted on taking high school art classes, and even sold original art at a local art fair to raise money for a Parkinson’s foundation. Growing up, I also went to engineering and computer science camps every summer at various colleges, where I learned the fundamentals of coding and website building. With all of these experiences under my belt, I began to develop separate interests in art and technology. When I graduated from high school, my first thought was not that I wanted to be a designer, but that no matter what, I wanted to pursue something that I was passionate about and that could help people. At the time, I thought that was art, but it wasn’t until I learned about the field of UX design that it clicked: this is the intersection between visual storytelling, technology, and impact I was looking for.

When I'm not designing…
I'm drawing and painting! I've been very invested in ink and watercolor lately. You can check out some of my art on the studio page.

I love cooking! I recently got into making cute bentos and took them to work everyday during my last internship. Check them out below :)
